Perspective Poland have provided a contemporary response for the Institute of Logistics and Warehouse’s new research and development unit. Located in the city centre of the Old Town, it was important that the new building integrate into the historic fabric of the city but also reflect the modern role of the National Centre for Innovation in Logistics & e-Economy. The new building consists of two parts: an office and laboratory, linked via a light filled glass atrium which doubles to provide recreational space and encourage communication. In response to the historical context red clinker brick features as the dominant facade material in a modern form. Elements of aluminium and glazing are also introduced.
