Michael has been an integral part of the HLM (Perspective UK associate) team for over three decades. Throughout this time, he has combined strong technical expertise with a deep appreciation for thoughtful, high-quality design, successfully delivering major projects across a wide range of sectors and regions, most notably in justice and defence. A career highlight was serving as project director on the RIBA award-winning Queen’s Cancer Centre in Hull, where he had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty the Queen at its official opening.

In April 2024, Michael was appointed as managing director at HLM. He is passionate about the future of the business, but equally about the people who drive it forward. In his role, he is dedicated to strengthening the operational side of the practice while nurturing the collaborative and supportive culture that makes HLM unique. For Michael, success is not measured solely by the projects delivered, but also by the positive experiences of the people who make them possible.

He is passionate about nurturing the practice’s culture to ensure it remains an inspiring and supportive workplace.
