Visättra is an anonymous suburban area built in the 1960s in a position isolated from the rest of Flemmingsberg, one of Stockholms five designated regional development areas, by railway tracks and roads.

Its former local centre was built as a temporary structure and had fallen into a state of decline. Huge, the local authority owned housing corporation, commissioned Ahlqvist&Almqvist architects to design a new centre in a more accessible position.

The new centre consists of a 550m² grocery store with four smaller units totalling 270m² that face onto a small entrance square with parking spaces and a bus stop.

The building has a steel structure with facades of glass, wood and sheet metal. Positioned in a valley, the buildings exposed gently sloping roof is covered with sedum plants.
