In January 2010 Dexter Moren Associates kicked off the design of their first resort project in Libya.
Libya’s 3000km stretch of coastline is largely undeveloped. Dramatically etched with wadis leading to the sea, sandy beaches and tall sandstone cliffs, its coastline offers some exceptional opportunities for the development of appropriate tourism which will preserve and enhance these natural features.
A comprehensive masterplan has recently been completed in association with the Libyan Government for a 10km stretch of coastline towards the Egyptian border.
Dexter Moren Associates has been appointed to design a luxury hotel with associated villas within this site. The Wadi Alswani Resort Hotel will include 350 luxury rooms and 45 villas with access to a private beach.
The challenging site is located on the plateau south of an existing village and features Ottoman ruins and an Italian memorial within the development parcel.
